The Reserve Bank of India has announced the public holiday schedule for January 2026, with some cities observing up to seven days of closure during the month, including Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
The RBI publishes the annual holiday calendar to help banks and customers prepare for planned closures.
These holidays include national celebrations and state-specific festivals that vary in different regions of India.
Banks will also remain closed on all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, as per standard practice.
