Dhaka’s Jamal Hossain fired 9 under Par 61 in the opening round of the NSL Luxe presents Telangana Golconda Masters on the Hyderabad Golf Association Course on Tuesday.
It gave the experienced Bangladesh golfer a head start of Akshay Sharma (62) of Chandigarh during the RS 1 Crore event, the PGTI said.
After heavy rain at night, dry was dry on Tuesday despite cloudy skies, which brought some lighting to the 123-member field with temperatures that fell in the mid-1920s, and players made full use of the circumstances.

Sharma’s Two Birdie Chip-ins contributed to a first-class round of 62. He had seven birdies on the rear nine before he added three more birdies and two Bogeys on his way home.
Tinendra Ghai van Gurgaon returned a 64 to keep third place.
Last week’s winner N. Thangaraja of Sri Lanka returned a 65 to be bound for the fourth together with seven others.
The professional Vishsh Sharma, based in Hyderabad, fired a 68 for part of 32ND Place as the best of the local players in the field.
The Delhi -based Arjun Prasad, currently second in the earnings list of the PGTI, shot a 69 to be bound 42ND.
