External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Sunday (October 26, 2025) on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s best wishes for the successful event.
“Honored to meet Prime Minister @anwaribrahim of Malaysia. Conveyed best wishes from Prime Minister @narendramodi for a successful ASEAN Summit,” Mr Jaishankar, who is in Kuala Lumpur to attend the annual Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, posted on social media.
“Appreciate his thoughts on strengthening our bilateral cooperation and people-to-people ties,” he added.
The Foreign Minister also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Hyun, on the sidelines of the summit and discussed cooperation in the automotive, electronics, semiconductor, defense and shipbuilding sectors.
“Happy to meet @FMChoHyun from RoK, on the sidelines of ASEAN meetings in Malaysia. Appreciate the deepening of our special strategic partnership. Discussed cooperation in automotive, electronics, semiconductors, defense and shipbuilding,” he posted on social media.
Mr. Jaishankar discussed the global and regional scenario with Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan and deliberated on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
“Good to meet FM @VivianBala from Singapore. A very useful exchange on the global and regional scenario as well as opportunities to strengthen India-Singapore cooperation,” the minister said.
He also met with Thai colleague Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
“First meeting today with Thai FM @SihasakPh in Kuala Lumpur. I look forward to working together to take our Strategic Partnership further,” he wrote.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday virtually addressed the annual India-ASEAN summit.
