“Bigi Boy” Rozenstruik was hit with a third-degree felony, false imprisonment and a first-degree misdemeanor charge, according to Broward County arrest records, after police were initially dispatched regarding a “suspicious incident” that they say later turned out to be “domestic battery.”
The heavyweight mixed martial artist, from Suriname, was also placed in immigration custody on Tuesday.
According to one report from MMA Junkie”The woman alleged that Rozenstruik knocked a phone out of her hand while ignoring him during an argument in a car. The woman said Rozenstruik then punched her hand again and when she tried to get out of the vehicle, Rozenstruik grabbed her arm. The woman said Rozenstruik tried to kiss her and then bit her arm. She also claimed that Rozenstruik prevented her from getting out of the car after they drove to another location.”
Police said Rozenstruik’s partner had “a visible bite wound on her right bicep, redness on both of her forearms and a red scratch/bruise under her right eye” and she allowed police to photograph her injuries.
The report states that Rozenstruik “was uncooperative during the investigation and had changed his account of the incident several times and withheld information about the incident. It took multiple attempts for Jairzinho to provide his account of the incident.”
Jairzinho Rozenstruik competed in the UFC 15 times from February 2019 to February 2025. He has a professional MMA record of 15-6.
Last year, Rozenstruik signed with Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing promotion, where he became heavyweight champion in his second fight with the promotion.
