Suzy Welch has once again filed a claim on the Upper East Side.

An entity linked to Welch, the author and widow of former General Electric CEO Jack Welch, has closed on a $24.2 million apartment on Park Avenue, property records show.

It is Welch’s third purchase in the area in the past seven years. Earlier this month, she put her townhouse at 160 East 81st Street, just a few blocks away, up for sale for $26 million.

It is not clear whether Welch plans to live in the house. A chief of staff for Welch said “your information is incorrect” in response to questions about the purchase, but did not elaborate.

Welch’s new purchase is the penthouse atop the 11-unit pre-war building, which was converted into apartments after a 2006 renovation.

The five-bedroom apartment spans 7,200 square feet and extends over three floors, including a landscaped terrace on the top floor and a home theater.

A private elevator leads to a double living room with 10-foot ceilings, herringbone floors and a limestone gas fireplace. The first floor also features a formal dining room overlooking Park Avenue and a wood-paneled library.

On the second floor there are two further terraces, one of which has an outdoor kitchen and dining area, a master suite and a sauna.

The seller is billionaire hedge financier Joseph Edelman, who bought the apartment in 2008 for $30.5 million. He initially listed it for more than $33 million in 2021, but has since lowered the asking price several times. The apartment had a final asking price of almost $27 million.

Compass’ Maria Manuche had the entry.

For Welch, an author and professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business, the purchase is the latest in a series of real estate moves since her husband’s death in 2020.

In 2022, Welch sold her Lenox Hill co-op at 834 Park Avenue for $21 million, after purchasing it with her husband Jack in 2018 for about $19 million.

That sale came about a year after she bought her now-listed mansion in 2021 for nearly $23 million. The double-wide home spans nearly 7,700 square feet and comes with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

In 2022, Welch also listed her Hudson Valley estate for $25 million.
