It’s not even October and the jazz may already regret the key outside the season blunder

The Utah Jazz completed their training camp schedule after all the movements they made this season. Even if their results for the regular season can be the same, the selection of the selection will be very different. One of the changes is one of the worst movements they have made during the low season that they probably already regret: Collin Sexton changing for Jusuf Nurkic.

Yes, even a few months later it is still difficult to understand this deal. Nurkic is more expensive, is the lesser player and the jazz had to cough up some concept capital on their own side to facilitate the deal. Sexton may not have had much commercial value, but even, it is difficult to wrap your head why the Sexton era ended with Nurkic as the most important trade return.

Although it is expected one of the worst teams in the NBA, the Jazz already have a lot of Frontcourt – talent that is now good – Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler – have the potential to be along the line – Kyle Filipowski and Taylor Hendricks – so it is difficult to see that Nurkic.

It currently hits a dead horse. Yet you could claim that it only got worse, because the deal was closed for reasons alongside the trade itself.

Utah was off promising talent to keep Nurkic

It is difficult enough to see how Nurkic finds a role in Utah, but they cut the much younger, higher potential big man who is KJ Martin. Although he in no way a star, and like Nurkic, he would have had problems finding a role in the rotation, Martin has more to give on the basketball court than Nurkic at the moment.

The only reason why he was cut is that his contract was not -gone, making it easier to open the cap space. So, Nurkic was taken over for a better player, will record more Cap Room, regardless of what Utah does to him this season, and because of his contract situation he is preferred to players who demonstrably earned it more.

To finish it all, he really should not be in a reconstruction team, such as the jazz with his career that ends. Although he is certainly not Portland Nurkic, he is still good enough to be a backup center in a Playoff team. With jazz he is a backup of a backup.

Utah was right to separate from sexton, because this season making them a closer look at them this season of Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier and Walter Clayton Jr. will afford. Simply because it was the right decision does not mean that Nurkic was the right man to exchange him.

It will not hurt too much in the long term, but the trade will stand out as a painful thumb until his jazz requirement ends.
