The right-arm middle pacer admitted that it could take a long time for this feat to be overshadowed. However, he also said that the record will not put pressure on him now or even in the future.
“It won’t change much from one day to the next. I still have to keep doing the same things – going out, bowling for my team, taking wickets and batting depending on the situation. It should boost my confidence. It might help me, but I don’t think about it. None of that is in my control. I just play cricket and concentrate on my performance. I will think about it when the time comes, but I am not putting any pressure on myself,” said Choudhary, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Instead, Choudhary remains focused on Meghalaya’s final group stage match against Manipur, which is scheduled to begin on November 16. He also noted that the team’s main objective remains to return to the Elite group of India’s domestic leagues across formats.
“We have only one league match left (against Manipur) – and it is important for us. If we want to reach the final, we have to do well there. We have already lost two matches (the chance to win) due to rain, so this last match really matters. As a team, our aim is to progress to the Elite group in all three formats – and stay there,” he added.
Meghalaya won the match played at the Pithwala Stadium in Surat by an innings and 446 runs after Arunachal was bowled out for 73 and 109. Arpit Bhatwara was awarded the Player of the Match award for his 207-run knock in Meghalaya’s only innings.
