Thomas Frank is looking forward to a “special” reunion with Brentford when his side Tottenham host them in the Premier League on Saturday.
This will be Frank’s first meeting with Brentford since leaving in the summer and he needs a win as Spurs are winless in their last five games in all competitions, although they did win a 2-2 draw against Newcastle in midweek.
They are winless in four Premier League games, leaving them 11th in the table.
Four of the last six times a Spurs boss has faced a specific former side for the first time have been losses, but Frank is enjoying this weekend’s match.
“I spent almost a quarter of my life there,” says Frank. “I had a fantastic time there, I enjoyed every second of it.
“On Saturday I’ll see a lot of people I haven’t seen in a long time. I used to see them more or less every day, so that will be special.”
“[Keith Andrews] has done a remarkable job. It’s never easy taking on your first role as a head coach. They lost crucial players in the summer, and he has continued the identity of Brentford, so high praise.
“But when the whistle blows it’s all about getting the three points. Everyone knows the respect I have for Brentford, the fans and everyone.”
“But in the 90 minutes it’s all about one thing: doing what we can to win the match.”

Brentford, meanwhile, is level on points with Spurs, but is two points lower due to an inferior goal difference.
The Bees have alternated between wins and losses in their last six league matches, losing 2-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday.
Keith Andrews made many changes to his line-up for that game, opting not to start Igor Thiago but defended his decision amid the busy schedule.
“Impressed, but not surprised,” Andrews said of the result. “They train very, very hard; they push each other.
“I have so much confidence in it [the squad]it is sometimes difficult to choose a team every week.”
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Tottenham-Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus has provided five assists for Tottenham in the Premier League this season, just one short of his highest return in the league (six in 2023/24).
With a goal against Fulham and an assist against Newcastle United, the Ghanaian wants to score goals for the first time in three consecutive games.
How can he help you?

Brentford – Igor Thiago
Igor Thiago has scored nine goals in his last eight Premier League starts, with these goals worth eight points to Brentford.
The Brazilian has already scored 11 goals during the top-flight season and is more likely to score double figures in a single season than any other Brentford player in the competition.
MATCH PREDICTION: TOTTENHAM WIN
Spurs have lost just one of their eight Premier League meetings with Brentford (W4 D3) and have won each of the last three in a row.
However, Tottenham have lost their last three London derby matches in the competition, most recently in a row between March and October 2021 (five).
Brentford, meanwhile, have lost three of their four away Premier League games against Spurs, with the exception of a 3-1 win in May 2023.
But a draw could be a more likely outcome as no side has lost more away games in the Premier League this season than Brentford (six), with only Wolves (one) taking fewer points than the Bees (three).
And Spurs have won just three of their 16 Premier League home games in 2025 (D3 L10), the lowest winning percentage in a calendar year in their league history (19%). Meanwhile, their ten home defeats this year are also a joint highlight for the club, along with 1994 and 2003.
OPTA CHANCE OF WINNING
Tottenham – 44.5%
Draw – 26.8%
Brentford – 28.7%
