Israel resumed Airdrophulp to Gaza on Sunday Aest, because the Israeli army announced several steps to tackle the humanitarian crisis after mounting international pressure.
The army said in a statement that designated corridors would be established to make the relocation of convoys of the United Nations possible that provide assistance to the Gaza population.
“The AirDrops will contain seven pallets of help with flour, sugar and canned food that needs to be provided by international organizations,” it added.
Palestinian sources confirmed that the aid started to fall in the north of Gaza.
Israel says that it has let enough food go into Gaza and the United Nations accuses it not to spread it. The United Nations say that it works as effectively as possible under Israeli limitations.
The Israeli military explanation said: “There is no hunger in the Gaza Strip” and “This is a false campaign promoted by Hamas”.
The UN said on Thursday that humanitarian breaks “would allow the scale of humanitarian aid” and said that Israel had not provided enough route -alternatives for his convoys who have hindered access to help.
Have dozens of Gazans died of malnutrition in recent weeksAccording to the Gaza Health Ministry, while 127 people died as a result of malnutrition, including 85 children, since the start of the war, which started almost two years ago.
On Wednesday, more than 100 aid organizations warned that mass hunger spread across the enclave.
The army also said on Saturday that it had connected a streamline to a desalination installation, which is expected to deliver the daily water needs for around 900,000 Gazans.
Aid organizations make doubts about the effectiveness of Airdrops
Humanitarian leaders are very skeptical that air drops can supply enough food to tackle the in -depth hunger crisis that can be seen more than two million inhabitants of Gaza. Instead, they demand that Israel allows more overland voyages.
A number of Western and Arab governments carried out air drops in Gaza in 2024, when help from land was also confronted with Israeli limitations, but many in the humanitarian community consider them not effective.
“Airdrops will not reverse the floor of hunger,” said Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA. “They are expensive, inefficient and can even kill starved civilians.”
“It’s a distraction and screen moke,” Lazzarini said in a message about X.
Israel imposed a total blockade on the access of Aid in Gaza on 2 March after conversations to expand a cease-fire in the more than 21-month-old conflict broke. At the end of May it started to have a ray of help coming in.
The army of Israel insists that it is not limited to the number of trucks that go to the Gaza Strip and claims that UN agencies and auxiliary groups do not collect the help as soon as it is within the territory.
But humanitarian organizations accuse the Israeli army of imposing excessive limitations, while they have a good command of access to traffic within Gaza.
