Isak posts farewell message as agent Chides Newcastle United

Alexander Isak says that he will “be grateful” for Newcastle United and the fans after completing his move to Liverpool.

The striker was in the center of one of the largest transfersagas in Premier League after he went on strike and publicly accused the club of breaking promises to penetrate a move to Anfield.

Isak finally got his wish on Deadline Day after Newcastle Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade had signed. They then agreed to sell their star players to the Reds for a first £ 125 million, a British transfer record, with a potential £ 5 million in add-ons.

The enmity between the two parties was clear when Magpies announced his departure with a short statement of 37 words in which the goal he scored in the League Cup final did not mention to help the club win their first big trophy in 56 years.

In his first words after the transfer, Isak told the official Liverpool FC website that it was a “relief” to become a member of the club after a “long journey to get here”.

He said: “I feel great. It has been a long journey to come here. But I am super clear to be part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It is something I am proud of and I am really looking forward to it.

“They are mixed emotions – some relief but a lot of pride, happiness. I am just happy that it is ready and that I can get back to work. I am looking forward to seeing and going back to my teammates and the fans.”

“Together we wrote history and brought the club to the place where he really belongs.

“It was an honor to be part of the journey from reaching the Champions League to winning the first trophy in more than 70 years. Thank you forever. Thanks, Newcastle.”

The agent of Isak, Vlado Lemic, was not so diplomatic about his feelings towards Newcastle in a short explanation released to talk talk.

“It’s nice if you have someone to be with, but it’s even more fun if you know who you will never be with,” Lemic said.
