These NBA Summer League games receive a lot of attention.

They have to mean a lot.

Ok, certainly, we will never remember games that have been played in Las Vegas in recent weeks.

In reality, the games are primarily important for Rookies and edge players who are looking for an invitation to training camp.

See you, you can’t make a NBA schedule if you don’t even go to the training camp.

If these games really matter, Isaac Jones has just sent a place in the rotation of the Sacramento Kings this season.

Last season, Jones was an unknown free agent who played for Sacramento in 40 games. He was on average 3.4 points and 7.6 minutes per match and scored 12 points three times.

But the kings (5–0) will come across the Charlotte Hornets (5-0) In the championship match on Sunday evening of the Vegas Summer League Due to a supreme effort from Jones.

Jones, 25, scored 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting in the 98-88 semi-final victory on the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.

The 6-foot-9 Jones was a man among boys against Toronto’s Summer League selection. Reminder: That is very different from Raptor’s loyal loyal such as Jakob Poeltl or Scottie Barnes.

On the other hand, Jones has seen longer roads in the direction of the NBA – and he has taken down every barrier.

He seemed to be ready with basketball after high school and started working on a loading dock performance in the state of Washington.

Then, like magic, he grew five centimeters.

He registered at the Wenatchee Valley College and played three seasons at the Washington Junior College. He was the Northwest Athletic Conference player of the year in his third season, an average of 25.3 points and 13.2 rebounds.

Jones went to Idaho and won Big Sky Newcomer of the Year Honors, on average 19.4 points and 7.8 rebounds.

He then took a step in the competition by bringing eight mile west to the west to the state of Washington. He on average 15.3 points and 7.6 rebounds and earned first team All-PAC-12 Awards for a COUGARS team that won a NCAA tournament match.

And while last season’s figures with the kings do not suggest a future star state, the franchise converted its two -way contract into a standard contract at the end of last season.

So the kings certainly love what they see – and they are those who look behind the scenes, in the film room and in practice.

This tells me that Jones will certainly make the opening night schedule of Sacramento, with an injury.

Of course games such as Saturday certainly help the cause.

“Unbelievable,” Kings Summer League Coach Dipesh Mistry said about Jones in his availability after the postgame media. “We know he has that kind of potential and he was over the entire floor when he was on the 4 and on the 5. Just attack the edge and make the right game.”

Jones spoke about how hard the team worked and how much they wanted to reach the championship game.

As far as his own skills are concerned, nobody has to tell him what he should work on.

“Staying aggressive, that’s the majority of my game,” said Jones Postgame. “I keep working on my 3-point shot, and in the end it will come.”

Ah, the 3-point shot. Jones was 6 of 19 from behind the bow in Idaho and 1 of 14 in the state of Washington.

During 12 g competition matches last season, Jones shot 26.3 percent (10 for 38) from 3-point reach.

Last season he hit 3-out-8 with the kings and limiting those attempts generally helped him to shoot 65.1 percent.

Among the teammates of Jones with the kings his first round ahead Nique Clifford and second round big man Maxime Raynaud.

The Charlotte roster comprised Wing Knueppel of the first round, second round guard Sion James and second round Big man Ryan Kalkbrenner.

One of these teams wins a Summer League title on Sunday evening. Some of these players get a last chance to impress.

And Isaac Jones makes another point to become a full-time member of the Sacramento rotation-no part of the G League shuttle.
