Iranian advocate Sima Limouchi recognized with IPC Para Sport Volunteer Award – International Table Tennis Federation

Sima Limouchi, a dedicated advocate for para-table tennis and the Paralympic movement in Iran, has been named winner of the prestigious Para Sport Volunteer Award at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Para Sport Awards 2025.

The award, determined through a public online vote from October 30 to November 13, 2025, recognizes Limouchi’s outstanding contributions to increasing access and awareness of para sports across Iran through volunteerism, education and leadership.

As a Technical Classifier in Para Table Tennis, Limouchi has played a crucial role in ensuring fair competition while working to increase participation in the sport. Her influence extends far beyond the competition hall and has inspired countless students through workshops and educational initiatives designed to promote understanding of para sport.

In her role as head of volunteers for Iran’s National Paralympic Day, Limouchi significantly increased public involvement and involvement in the Paralympic Movement by organizing awareness seminars that brought parasport to new audiences. Her commitment to advocacy was further demonstrated through her participation in the UNESCO commemorations of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Limouchi has played an important role in shaping Iran’s Paralympic future through her work in the Development Committee of the National Paralympic Committee. She has championed Para table tennis on the international stage at the Asian Youth Para Games, while developing inclusive sports programs for children with disabilities at the grassroots level.

The IPC received more than 200 nominations in 11 categories for the 2025 awards, which recognized achievements during the entry period from May 1, 2023 to March 31, 2025. The Para Sport Awards are presented every two years to honor those whose efforts have amplified the impact of Parasports worldwide.

The 11 awards have been presented to recipients from 10 different countries, representing Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and reflect the incredible depth and diversity of talent within the global Paralympic Movement.
