Tell us a bit about your background and your breathing work …

I am an integrative doctor who is committed to healing and bringing the heart back to the art of medicine. My medical training was a step in the direction of my true calling as a facilitator of health and a catalyst for change.

My healing philosophy is based on the partnership between doctor and patient who, in my opinion, are co-makers in the journey of health. It honors the inseparable connection between body, mind, heart and nature. I work with a methodology that supports the self-healing capacity of the body and that is supported by evidence-based principles of healing.

Through individual consultations, conversations, the facilitation of workshops, training, retreats and my writing, I present a framework of understanding illness and health through the multidimensional lens of Western medicine, natural principles, neuro -sciences and old wisdom traditions, causing you to make more inspiration and perpetual health to live with optimum health

What inspired you to start breathing Africa and when was it founded?

I realized that this medicine had to be made available to as many people as possible in a grounded way, supported by science, while honoring the roots and mystery of breathing. Although I worked a lot with breath in my medical practice, Breathwork Africa officially started in May 2018.

What is your mission with Breathwork Africa?

BreathWork Africa manifests his vision through the art and science of Pneumanity ™ Breathwork as a tool for self -produce, healing and transformation. Through individual and group sessions, practice training, conversations and workshops we meet a wide audience in Africa and worldwide.

We support children, students, business leaders, entrepreneurs, NGOs, creatives, activists, educators, athletes-everyone who is committed to physical and mental health, personal growth, well-being and more self-consciousness.

How does Breathwork Africa differ from other wellness networks?

It offers breath work from a science-based approach while it honors its indigenous roots through the 7 threads of Pneuermanity-Sankopha, Safety, Ubuntu, creativity, embodiment, wholeness and mystery. We believe that Africa has enormous knowledge and wisdom to offer the rest of the world and we do this conscious breathing.

What advice would you give to someone who starts his breathing or welfare trip?

To ensure that they work with someone who has been trained and certified by a recognized school of breathing works and to realize that the breath is their own breath. Long enough, humanity has given their power to an external source – breath work supports a sense of freedom of choice for every individual. There is no ‘magical pill’ for healing – consciousness and conscious dedication are needed to integrate aids into daily life.

What do you have the rest of 2025 and 2026?

We have a Breathwork Foundation course in the Netherlands in September and an online in November. We also offer breath work master classes on the last Saturday of every month. Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed.

In 2026 we will keep breathing in India in January and then a range of breathing training sessions throughout the year.
