Veteran Big Man Al Horford has just finished his 18th professional season. He played in 60 of 82 games for the Celtics in 2024-25 and made 40 starts.

However, it is the second week of August and Horford is still not signed. ESPN’s Anthony Slater recently reported that pension “stays on the table” for Al Horford. The Warriors would like to improve their selection prior to the 2025-26 season. Golden State wants to have the best possible cast to guide Superstar PG Steph Curry. This season outside the season, the Warriors are connected to Celtics Big Man Al Horford. After they had lost Kevon Looney, the Warriors would like to add Horford’s experienced presence low.
However, there are a few factors in the game. Firstly, Jonathan Kuminga is a limited free agent this season and he still has to sign with the Warriors. He is rumors in commercial conversations, but Kuminga does not remain signed. That has had a direct impact on the Warriors who already sign Horford. ESPN’s Anthony Slater said that Horford is comfortable waiting for this season.

Al Horford is still considering retiring this season. The 2025-26 season would be his 19th year in the NBA. Slater said the Warriors are working as if Horford will be part of their plan next season. We will have to wait and see if the Warriors can land the VeterenArtcentrum. In 60 games last season, Horford already had an average of 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
In addition, Horford shot .363% from outside. Something under his career average, but the 39-year-old is very effective at this stage of his career. The big man can no longer play 30 minutes per game in the evening. He doesn’t have that in him. Horford, however, can still be an effective floor distance. Al Hordford is in no hurry to sign this contract out of season and will take the time to make the next decision for his career.
