The Indianapolis Colts are in the middle of a real Quarterback battle that could determine their season.

Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones are locked up in a competition in which neither players has set a clear separation by the early stages of the training camp.

The organization probably hopes that Richardson can grab the starting role. As a former top five concept choice, his development remains crucial for the long-term plans of the franchise.

But the path ahead is not easy for the young Quarterback. NFL -Sinsider Cameron Wolfe recently gave insight into how the competition has folded.

“Today I spoke with someone in the Colts building who said that Anthony Richardson had his best day of training camp so far. Anthony Richardson was the man she had put in the top five a few years ago, and they split it every day,” Wolfe said about the insiders.

Richardson’s early camp struggle came partly from shoulder pain that limited his throwing capacity.

The gradual return to fitting with full speed was necessary because he had not thrown live to recipients in a longer period.

The coaching staff understands that staying healthy represents Richardson’s biggest challenge, given his injury history.

Recent signs indicate growing faith in his physical condition.

Richardson fell around 10 pounds to reach 240, which demonstrated his commitment to sustainability for a full season.

In the meantime, Jones refuses to surrender the position without a fight.

The experienced Quarterback has performed well enough to keep the competition legitimate.

Both players continue to get equal opportunities to prove their value.

The Colts seem to have content to let this struggle play naturally instead of force a premature decision.
