The New York Rangers enter the 2025-26 season with high expectations, but insiders suggest that the team will not hesitate to make daring movements if things don’t start well. Dave Pagnotta, for a guest on Tsn -radio in Montreal noted that “almost everything would be taken into consideration”, including transactions with star -wing Artemi Panarin, which evaluates the role of Mika Zibanejad, or even risky swaps with Alexis Lafreniere.
In other words, although there may be patience in some markets to have teams collected or recover after a difficult piece to start a season, that belt may not exist with the Rangers. It is interesting, given that new coach Mike Sullivan should not turn around for long.
What the Rangers cannot or will not make
It is clear that the coach is not going anywhere. With Sullivan given the keys, he will survive many members of the selection if things don’t start well.

Goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin will also be locked up for the next eight years. His new contract is one of the Rangers who are not about to dump if he is struggling. Some would claim that he is one piece that New York has kept competitive for several seasons.
The Rangers recently made important changes to their blue line, so it would be difficult to imagine that they would dump the group or newcomers such as Vladislav Gavrikov, or trader D-Man Adam Fox.
This means that the changes will probably come from the forward group.
From Chris Kreider to Anaheim has already been moved, it is expected that Cuylle, 23, will step into a top-six role. He should be given time about the Power Play and the fine. JT Miller has just arrived, so it is unlikely that he will be considered as a trading bait. However, the position of Zibanejad is anything but guaranteed.

If the Rangers stumble early, aggressive schedule adjustments can be in order. Sullivan will probably have an important voice in those decisions, and his communication with management will be of the utmost importance in how the organization goes.
