Renew Energy Global PLC, one of India’s largest renewable energy companies, is talking to a group of global lenders to collect a loan of around $ 815 million for refinancing, according to people who are familiar with the issue.

At least two European banks will lead the five -year facility, which is expected to be completed in the coming month or two, said that the people who asked not to be identified because the information is private. The loan will be syndicated between a wider universe of banks, they added.

The company established in Gurgaon, which generates about 9 percent of India’s clean flow, is closely monitored by investors who follow the Indian hot renewable energy sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi insists on reaching the net zero missions by 2070, and a flurry of clean energy companies are preparing for the first public offers.

The loan would be one of the largest refinance agreements in the sector this year. In total, Indian companies have collected a record amount by loans in foreign currency in the first half of 2025. Year to date, they have borrowed around $ 18.9 billion of loans in foreign currency, according to data that has been paid by Bloomberg.

Renewal energy did not respond to a request for comment.
