Any help in spreading the message these last few days is appreciated. You can read everything about the event and the exhibitors, competitions and partners in this article, below is some practical information prior to Saturday:
– The venue is an event space at 5 Jiak Kim Street, in a building complex with a restaurant and a lobby with serviced apartments. The event space is located in a building at street level, with high ceilings and a beautiful and spacious atmosphere. You enter directly into the exhibition space, at the back there is an open lounge area that we will convert into the large stage space for the glittering finale in the afternoon. Further back there are two rooms that are connected: one houses the small stage area and the other the workshop space. There are toilets in a corridor at one end of the room.
– In the lounge area Ancient moon spirits serves complimentary Japanese Shochu and Awamori, both on the rocks and in cocktails, and That one coffee sells coffee, tea and some small coffee snacks.
– We open the doors to the public at 11am and it is open all day until 6:30pm. Since it’s our first time doing this, we don’t know exactly what the location will look like and how many people will be there. Sometimes it can (hopefully) be a bit busy around the tables of some exhibitors. If this is the case, just be patient, respect each other and you should be fine. The small stage can also be busy for some sessions, we hope this will be fine.

There will also be various clothing and accessory companies present, so it’s not just shoes.
– There are chairs and mirrors close to each exhibitor table. All exhibitors will exhibit many samples. If you try on Ready to Wear models, wear them carefully and do not walk away with them in the venue. All exhibitors take orders throughout the day, with some selling smaller products on site, such as shoe care products or accessories. In many cases there are exclusive offers during the day, keep your eyes peeled for a good deal. Keep in mind that your attendees play a huge role in making it worthwhile for the brands to come to the event by purchasing their products.
– The Sapphire Shoe shine masterclasses with Ash Samsudin from Floor professions has three separate sessions, which is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best shoe shiners in the world, get feedback and try things on with his cues. Here you will need to bring your own pair of shoes (these can be the shoes you are wearing that day), in black or medium brown (or thereabouts), while Saphir provides shoe care products. They last 45 minutes, between stage events. Session 1 from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM, Session 2 from 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM and Session 3 from 4:15 PM to 5:00 PM. There are still spots you can register for, although some are already starting to fill up. More information and registration here. If there are places available, walk-ins are possible during the day, but it is of course best to register to be sure of a place.
– At 3 p.m. it is time for the Asian Shoe Shining Championships, on the big stage, which we will convert into the lounge area in the afternoon. Finalists this time are Niko Cho from Singapore, Tyler Tran from Vietnam and Naoki Hayashida from Japan. They will make a new Bridlen shoe shine with Saphir products in just 20 minutes and compete for great prizes and the title. There will be bar tables for the polishing participants, with some seating for the audience, but many will have to stand up. It can be busy, but people get a good view of the impressive work of the participants.

The shining competition is a highlight you don’t want to miss. Will also be streamed live here on Shoegazing.com.
– The top three shoes from the World Shoemaking Championships, plus the winner of the World Patina Champion, will be on display. Handle them carefully when you lift them, but don’t miss the job in its entirety.
– We will be live streaming the shine match at 3pm (Singapore time). It will be here on Shoegazing.com and elsewhere Shoegazing’s YouTube channel. We hope we can make it without any technical problems. There will also be many films later from Kirby Allison, and probably from a number of other visitors as well.
– On social media we have the hashtag as usual #supertrunk for the events, you can use it when posting content on social media. It’s a great way to follow what’s happening and see lots of great shoes, for those of you who can’t attend the event.
