IndiGo made remarkable progress in its international strategy by launching long-haul flights connecting India to Manchester, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and London, facilitated by its widebody Boeing 787-9 aircraft in partnership with Norse Atlantic Airways. The airline also added 10 new international destinations and 30 new routes, including Seychelles, Krabi, Madinah, Fujairah and Siem Reap, while restarting direct flights to China from Kolkata and Delhi.Looking ahead, IndiGo plans to launch non-stop services to Athens from January 23, 2026, marking the international debut of India’s first Airbus A321XLR, which will enable entry into the medium to long-haul markets.
Domestically, IndiGo strengthened connectivity with emerging centers by launching operations in Navi Mumbai, Purnea, Rewa and adding routes to Hindon, Adampur, Kishangarh and Bikaner. The airline is also preparing to commence operations from Noida International Airport (Jewar). By the end of the year, IndiGo’s network included 139 destinations, including 97 domestic and 42 international locations.

IndiGo doubled its order for Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft to 60, signaling confidence in long-term international growth. The airline also expanded its two-class IndiGoStretch cabins to 42 aircraft and expanded its BluChip loyalty program to more than 9 million members. IndiGo deepened its global alliances through codeshare agreements, improving connectivity in North America, Europe and Asia. The airline averaged more than 2,200 flights per day, transported more than 55,000 tons of cargo and maintained industry-leading on-time performance for ten out of twelve months. Plans for a world-class MRO facility with BIAL further underline the long-term operational strategy.
In 2025, IndiGo was named the Best Airline in India and South Asia at the Skytrax World Airline Awards and continues to rank among the top 20 airlines globally, with annual revenues exceeding $10 billion.
CEO Pieter Elbers commented: “2025 was a year of significant execution, expanding both domestic and international reach while learning from operational challenges. We enter 2026 with a strong foundation, focused on scale, innovation and customer-centric growth.”
With the introduction of the Airbus A321XLR, continued international launches and densification of its domestic network, IndiGo is positioned to continue its trajectory of growth, operational excellence and global expansion through 2026.
On Wednesday, shares of InterGlobe Aviation ended the day 0.83% higher at Rs 5,059.50.
