India, on Sunday (October 5), Pakistan took 88 points to expand their winning start in the current ICC World Cup World Cup 2025. After winning their opening match against Sri Lanka with 59 points, India had little trouble seeing the women in the Green in the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
As far as Pakistan is concerned, they managed to eliminate India for the first time in the ODIs of women, but they still could not win their first victory against the women in Blue.
Asked to hit first, India scored 247 points in 50 overs. Harleen Deol was the top scorer for the team and scored 46 points, while Richa Ghosh’s undefeated knock of 20 balls helped the side after a total of 240 plus. India started well with Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal who added 48 runs for the opening wicket.

All-round contribution with the bat for women in blue
However, none of the two openers could turn the start into large scores. Pakistani captain Fatima Sana fired Mandhana for 23 for her team to give a much needed breakthrough. On the other hand, Rawal left after scoring 31 points.
Harleen and Captain HarmanPrreet Kaur then took the score beyond the 100-run mark before it was fired before 19.
The will of Jemimah Rodrigues (32), DETTI Sharma (25) and Sneh Rana (20) also got the start, but they also did not fail for long. Ghosh then played the role of a finisher to perfection and remained unbeaten to guide the team to a challenging total.
For Pakistan, experienced sailor Diana Bag was impressed by the ball and took 4 for 69 while Sadiq Iqbal and Sana each grabbed two wickets.
India thrash Pakistan
While Pakistan was doing well with the ball, they still had a disappointing outing with the bat. Sidra Amin scored 81 points and was the highest run scorer in the game, but her efforts were not enough for Pakistan to cross the finish line.
They hardly looked into the battle to chase the total and were eventually either thrown out for 159 runs in 43 overs. They continued to lose wickets regularly from the start. With their best batters who did not deliver, Pakistan staggered at 26/3 in one stage before Amin and Natalia Pervaiz added 69 points for the fourth Wicket.
India then hit back with two fast wickets to reduce Pakistan to 102/5. They were in one stage on 143/5 before they lost their last five wickets for just 16 runs. For India, Kranti Goud and Depteni each picked up 3 wickets.
India holds unbeaten record against Pakistan
The victory also extended the undefeated Run of India against Pakistan in the 50-over format. India has now won all 12 games they played against Pakistan. Those 12 games also include five games in the World Cup World.
