The first professional basketball competition from India was launched on Friday through a partnership between the Basketball Federation of India and ACG Sports.
The very first professional basketball competition of India has been launched, with the competition that contains a structured competitive competition in 5×5 and 3×3 formats for both men and women, which sets up an extensive professional ecosystem that opens the door for athletes in the entire country to strive after striving as a fodder ball.
This competition, launched on Friday, is a collaboration between the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and ACG Sports Private Limited. Designed to define again how the sport is played, experienced and supported in India, the Basketball competition wants to shift from a niche discipline to a mainstream pursuit.
ACG-BFI cooperation
To supervise the worldwide strategy and activities of the competition, Jeremy Loeliger, former CEO and Commissioner of the National Basketball League (NBL) of Australia, is appointed director of ACG Sports. In his new role, it will lead the development of the blueprint of the competition, which brings international administrative standards, competition and commercial innovation to the Indian coasts, according to a press release from BFI and ACG.
