Bangalore, October 24, 2025: Hockey India on Friday announced a likely core group of 39 members for the Senior Women’s National Coaching Camp, which will be held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Center in Bengaluru from October 24 to December 7, 2025.

The camp follows the Indian women’s hockey team’s impressive campaign at the 2025 Women’s Asia Cup in Hangzhou, China, where the team lifted the silver medal, further consolidating its position as one of Asia’s premier teams.

The goalkeeping unit includes Bichu Devi Kharibam, Bansari Solanki and Madhuri Kindo, besides promising youngster Samiksha Saxena of Assam Hockey, who had impressed the selectors with her performances at the national championships earlier this year.

The defensive line-up will be anchored by veteran players Nikki Pradhan, Sushila Chanu Pukhambam, Udita and Mahima Chaudhary, while rising stars Ishika Chaudhary, Jyoti Chhatri and Anjna. Dungdung, Akshata Abaso Dhekale and Suman Devi Thoudam add depth and youthful energy to the backline.

In midfield, the group combines skill and consistency with the experience of Neha, Salima Tete, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Manisha Chauhan and Sharmila Devi, complemented by emerging talent Sujata. Kujur, Mahima Tete, Albela Rani Toppo and Pooja Yadav.

The forward has an exciting mix of pace and finishing ability, featuring Navneet Kaur, Deepika Soreng, Sangita Kumari, Rutuja Dadaso Pisal, Mumtaz Khan, Beauty Dungdung, Annu, Hritika Singh, Dipimonika Toppo, Chandana Jagadish and Kajal Sadashiv Atpadkar. Star drag flicker Deepika, who had missed the 2025 Women’s Asia Cup due to injury, is also part of the senior camp.

Speaking about the camp, Indian Women’s Hockey Team Head Coach Harendra Singh said: “The team showed great resilience and character in the recent Women’s Asia Cup, and this camp will give us the opportunity to build on that momentum. Our focus will be on refining our structure, improving our conversion at key moments and improving physical fitness. “We also want to place more emphasis on our defensive structure to to increase our freedom in attack and to better align with our principles of play.”

“We have a good mix of experienced players and promising young talent, and it will be exciting to see how they push each other to raise the overall level of the group,” he added.

This National Coaching Camp will serve as a crucial platform for identifying the final core group ahead of the team’s upcoming international calendar and preparations for future global tournaments.
