The Asia Cup 2025 final had its biggest flash point in the 18th when Jasprit Bumrah Haris Rauf Boog, his off-stump back and it followed with a fiery countdown.
Bumrah mimed a gesture “plane crashing”, the same one that Rauf had made towards Indian fans during the Super Fours collision earlier in the tournament. At that time, the actions of the Pakistan Pacer were generally seen as a reference to the military conflict between India and Pakistan earlier this year and led to serious criticism.
The earlier antics of Rauf had already soured the atmosphere. He was filmed with making the gesture on the border line and had also exchanged heated words with India’s Abhishek Sharma during the same game.

Shipping has now become the last chapter in what has been one of the most politically charged Asia-Cups in history. The players of India refused twice hands with Pakistan, which led to official complaints from the PCB and even threats from a boycott. Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha added to the drama by skipping a mandatory press conference for the Super Fours collision.
With the gesture of Bumrah, tensions that were in the tournament simmered again cooked.
