Pant’s injury could leave India shortage of one batter, and even if Dhruv Jurel takes on the Wicketkeeping role, as he did in the previous game, he may not be allowed.

Fans remained disappointed when Rishabh Pant persuaded a toe injury during the 68th of the current fourth test between India and England, who forced him to retire halfway through his innings. The ball hit his toe after he was bumped from the bottom of his bat while trying a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes.

Pant was immediately taken to the medical center for scans because he seemed to have serious pain. Legend Nasser Hussain, England, called it “an important setback” for India while commenting on Sky Sports after the game of the day was closed. “It has been the day of India – apart from the pant injury. That is an important setback, and it will be intriguing to hear updates at night. Hopefully he will be fine. This match needs pants, and the series was lucky to involve him,” he said.

According to the latest reports, the Pant injury resulted in a broken toe and he is advised to rest for six weeks. However, it remains uncertain whether he will hit again, with the probability that seems pretty slim.

Pant’s injury could leave India shortage of one batter, and even if Dhruv Jurel takes on the Wicketkeeping role, as he did in the previous game, he may not be allowed. This is in accordance with the ICC test playing conditions: “A replacement may not be purchased or functioned as a captain, but can only act as a Wicketkeeper with the permission of the referees. Only a nominated player can hit and can do this, although a replacement field player has acted before him.”

Last month the ICC announced a new series of regulations and indicated that it will evaluate the concept of allowing replacements of full injury in domestic first -class competitions. In the explanation of the rule, the ICC stated: “A player who started at any time after the game (a player who increases a serious injury at the game of the game (including a warm-up period for the game) can be replaced for the rest of the game by a fully participating Like-For-like player.”

However, the regulation will come into effect in October of this year and will be in force for six months. This means that Jurgel can still serve as a back -up wicketkeeper during both innings, but he cannot beat.

Full replacements are currently permitted in cases of concussion. In such situations, a team can replace a player from the selection who was submitted to the civil servant before the game starts.
