Roma – To crown his “Hurry as the activity of a collector” while he himself defines his visceral passion for art, just completed for 86 years, Gian Enzo Sperone enriched the National Academy of San Luca with a generous act of love.

Palazzo Carpegna, in the heart of Rome, welcomes the 33 works donated by the gallerist and trader of Art Turinese of today, Friday 16 May, who, thanks to his galleries that open over time, have held a central role in the artistic events to the artistic events today.
A secret thread, intimate, invisible to most, woven over the years by Sperone, binds the works that remain on the ground floor of the building to be transferred until 7 June, starting from the next fall, restored to the occasion where they are permanently exposed. The passionate story of the donor manages to explain the engine, sometimes mysterious, which moves the very personal mechanisms of collecting.
Just to make an exampio, The portrait of gentleman with red arch By Salomon, Adler has something in common with the canvas of Vittore Ghislandi, called Fra Galgario. “I decided to buy it when I discovered that Adler and Ghislandi were schoolmates,” Sperone. Capriccio and Vozzo as a collector? Maybe. The fact is that Sperone has never sold to compose again, dedicated to those works that he calls ‘daughters’ and whose donation has come to the academy since 1934, the year of which Baron Lazzaroni has left ten paintings of his collection, according to the example of other illustrious donors.

This is Confirmed by the High Consideration that Our Institution also Enjoy the Most Relevant Repentatives of the International WORTDSCEMISTIIC WORTDS of the International World -force world Protection of Any Form of Visual Art.

To welcome visitors is The twilight of the idols By Giulio Paolini, a large installation in which classicism is evoked in his fall and in his broken excerpts, authentic “vision” of his dusk. And here he is Giulio Paolini who returns between the characters of the grandiosis Constellation of the lion By Carlo Maria Mariani, another working part of the Sperone donation, preparatory design of the large oil cloth shown in 1981 in the Sperone Galleries in Rome and New York. In this large collective representation “old” of the characters of the art world of the late seventies of the last century, the author is recognized in the academic guides, surrounded by traders and historians of the art in time, but also by artists, by Jannis Kounellis to Luigi ontani himself.

As the paintings of Gioacchino Assereto, Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, Il Guercino, Ludovico Cardi, called the Cigoli – with his own Maddalena penitent that was part of the collection of the Getty Museum of Los Angeles – and still Giacomo Ceruti called the Pitocchetto, Giovanni Antonio Guardi with Crassus drops the temple of JerusalemPainting that before it enters the Sperone collection, it belonged to the Milanese lawyer Guido Rossi – brought the twentieth century his way with one Melodrammatic Dead Nature By Filippo de Pisis and with a beautifully funny mask from Francesco Paolo Michetti. The portrait of Antonio Canova, grown, in 1819 by the painter John Jackson, in a realistic expression, unusually hesitant, almost shy, far from the representations in the festive gamble chosen by other great masters, is beautiful.

The exhibition is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday from 15 to 19 (last import to 18.39. On Saturday from 10 to 19 (last entry at 6.30 pm). On Saturday 17 May, on the occasion of the European Museums Night, the academy will be opened from 20 to 24 (last access at 11.30 pm) donations, of the testamentary legacy, of the artists.
