It’s been a tough 2025 season for Twins fans; they saw nearly half of their favorite team’s roster dismantled at the trade deadline before their unpopular owners decided to take the team off the market after announcing they would try to sell the team about a year ago. Still, with promising prospects and stars like Byron Buxton, Luke Keaschall, and Joe Ryan, the Twins have a lot of interesting storylines surrounding the team, and hopefully the front office makes some big signings and/or trades this season. With that in mind, here are some important offseason dates Twins fans should know.
Important dates for Twins fans to know in the 2025-2026 MLB season
Qualifying Offer Deadline (five days after the end of the World Series)
Five days after the World Series 2025 ends, teams must decide whether or not to extend qualifying offers to free agents. The deadline will be somewhere between November 2 and 6. The qualifying bid is expected to be $22 million. While Twins fans should keep this date in mind to keep an eye on the league, it’s safe to say that Minnesota’s front office will not be extending qualifying offers this offseason as most of the club’s upcoming free agents were dealt to other teams in July. Christian Vázquez is the only notable free agent for the Twins, and Minnesota certainly won’t want to pay a backup catcher $22 million for one season.
Non-tender deadline (November 21)
This date is a lot more relevant to Twins fans, which the front office can look at non-tendering Some players are cutting payroll and creating roster space for prospects like Walker Jenkins, Emmanuel Rodriguez and Kaelen Culpepper. There are 10 non-tendered prospects on the Twins, with relievers Thomas Hatch, Anthony Misiewicz and Michael Tonkin the most likely to be non-tendered, along with outfielder Trevor Larnach.
MLB Winter Meetings (December 8-11)
Twins fans hope Minnesota will make productive moves at the Winter Meetings, where executives from all 30 teams gather each year. This year’s Winter Meetings will take place December 8-11 in Orlando, Florida. The 2025 MLB Draft Lottery will also take place during the Winter Meetings, scheduled for December 9 at 3:00 PM CT. The 2025 MLB Rule 5 Draft will also take place during the Winter Meetings on December 10 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM CT.
Pitchers and catchers report to spring training (February 2025)
In February, Twins pitchers and catchers will report to the Twins training complex in Fort Myers, Florida, to prepare for the 2026 campaign. Minnesota has not yet announced its spring training schedule, but fans can expect them to begin their spring training schedule sometime this fall.
