Manchester United are plotting a ‘blockbuster move’ for Iliman Ndiaye as the club’s transfer plans start to take shape this summer, according to a new report.
A new left winger
United were prepared to make an unexpected foray this month to sign Antoine Semenyo, but the Bournemouth talisman rejected those advances in favor of a move to the blue half of Manchester.
The 26-year-old winger was a long-term target, with sporting director Jason Wilcox inviting him to dinner last summer to discuss a potential move.
Ultimately, United prioritized the pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo and eventually agreed a £71 million deal with Brentford for the Cameroon international.
United’s interest in signing another winger did not disappear, however, as Semenyo’s botched approach over Christmas showed, with Ruben Amorim even believed to be willing to adapt his system to lure the Ghanaian to Old Trafford.
A month later, Semenyo is starring for City, while Amorim is no longer the Red Devils’ head coach, having been sacked following an explosive row with Wilcox and replaced by Michael Carrick as caretaker until the end of the season.
Nevertheless, United’s intention to sign a flying left winger remains, with the need for a new option increasing if anything given the shift to a 4-2-3-1 formation. – a system that anyone appointed this summer is expected to maintain.

“Sources have said that TEAMtalk that Ndiaye has a growing number of admirers within the club, with his playing style and general profile seen as a strong fit for what United want to add in attack.

A variety of clubs – inside and outside England – They are also believed to be in the hunt for the Senegal international, who helped lead his country to victory at the Africa Cup of Nations this month.
Last summer, Inter Milan had a £40million bid rejected, showing how much the Toffees value their star player.
Indeed, TEAMtalk claims a “massive fee” would be needed to win him from Merseyside, citing the club-record £75m fee paid by Romelu Lukaku to sign for United as a benchmark.
The report concludes that the Red Devils “operat[ing] with significant financial backing” this summer, which however suggests a big-money raid to repeat the trick that brought a star striker from Everton to Old Trafford.
