Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje may not happen at the UFC White House, says MMA reporter

An MMA reporter has suggested that Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje may not happen at the UFC White House.

As we know, Ilia Topuria is the undisputed UFC lightweight champion. We also know that Justin Gaethje is the interim 155-pound champion in the wake of his win over Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324. Looking ahead to the future, it certainly feels like these two are on a collision course to reunite the belts, perhaps at the highly rumored White House.

Topuria is on an absolute tear right now and looks set for a legendary run in the lightweight division, and who knows, possibly even welterweight. As for Gaethje, he knows this is likely his last chance to claim the gold before he rides off into the sunset and retires from mixed martial arts.

In one recent videoMMA reporter Álvaro Colmenero provided an update on the possibility of this fight happening.

MMA reporter on Topuria vs Gaethje

“On Ilia Topuria’s fight against Gaethje in the White House:

“The fight is NOT signed, and while it is a possibility, the chances of it happening there have decreased.

“There are several geopolitical and economic arguments against the struggle being waged in the WH.”

At this point, it’s hard to say what the main event (or the rest of the card) will look like for UFC White House. What we do know is that this feels like the fight we need to have in the lightweight division where both men are now.
