A glass of chocolate milk before going to bed
Malinin, who is about to make his Olympic debut in the short program and free skating events at the Skating arena Milan*also shared some other insights into his life outside of his sport.
His most enduring fear? Heights. His dream film and role? Hiccups How to train your dragon. The mind he would most like to explore? Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“I would like to see what is going on in his head,” Malinin said of the famous American astrophysicist. “I’ve been interested in a lot of space stuff for a while, maybe since sixth grade.”
But perhaps one of the most curious revelations was the role of milk in skaters’ diets.
After admitting that he wasn’t really a breakfast person, he also ruled out caffeinated and carbonated drinks, preferring milk, water and juice.
Before Malinin goes to sleep, he especially enjoys a glass of chocolate milk.
Whatever his routine, the American skater will certainly stick to it as he begins his Milano Cortian 2026 campaign.
*As the National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in the Milano Cortina Games depends on the choice of their NOC to represent their delegation at Milano Cortina 2026.
