Sthyr Energy, a depth of start-up that develops long-term energy storage systems, has a closed $ 1 million seed financing in a round led by special invest, with the participation of Antares Ventures.
Sthyr Energy is to again present the battery technology to take on a crucial challenge in the transition to renewable energy, which stores clean energy over long -term duration. The company is developing a mechanically rechargeable zinc-air battery system that is specially designed for applications such as seasonal energy storage and fossil peak installation.
With seed financing, Sthyr Energy is planning to expand its R&D efforts, to build pilot systems and to deal with energy scale energy and industrial partners to demonstrate the commercial viability of its technology.
The start-up notes that the technology was built on five years of fundamental research carried out at Iit Madras by co-founders Gunjan, Akhil and Hamdan. “The system uses non-relaxing, water-based electrolytes to guarantee a high level of safety, while the unique architecture disconnects energy and power components, making flexible, modular implementations possible on different scales,” is an explanation. It is a feasible alternative to lithium ion technologies, it adds.
“We are delighted to work with Specialle Investures and Antares Ventures to take our technology from Lab to Grid,” said Gunjan, co-founder and CEO of Sthyr Energy. “Our batteries are designed to offer energy security in a Net-Zero world storage storage of solar energy in the summer for use in winter and delivering reliable power backup for more than 100 hours.”
“The products of Sthyr are not fundamentally dependent on rare earth metals, but in the interior available metals. Sthyr could be the gift of India to the world for energy storage – a sector currently dependent on a single nation, with complex geopolitical priorities, for rare earth elements, said Vishnu Rajeeve, Rajeeve Rajeve, Rajeeve Rajeeve, Rajeeve Rajeekeve, Rajeeve Rajeeve, Rajeeve Rajeekeve, Rajeeve Rajeeve, Rajeve Rajeve, Rajeeve Rajeeve, Rajeeve. on special.
Vishsh Rajaram, Managing Partner at Special Invest, added that Sthyr’s technology tackles a “fundamental bottleneck” in the acceptance of clean energy and their founder brings the rare combination of technical excellence and mission -driven version.
