Cheese. The Jet set. Painting their fighter jets. Wine.

And now it seems that France can add Globe Trotting Superstar horses to the list of things that they are excellent in producing.

It is fed up that it is no more than a year to keep their most important middle distance race in their hands, it seems that the best French horses regularly rob British coasts to take an end to their top prizes, in an attempt to inflict the same because they receive every first weekend in October in the house.

And usually they take in more than a crack. They take it home on the canal.

Last year, Goliath rushed home in a canter and beat the arch winner in the process in that season, and last Saturday the current favorite Kalpana was forced to settle for the second Francis-Henri Graffard His second king George & Queen Elizabeth Stakes in 12 months under a nice ride of Mickael Barzalona.

If you are Juddmonte, you have to wonder how you will win your first King George, because the legendary mare in 2020 and the last 3 innovations have resulted in second place on every occasion.

A healthy bit of prize money, yes. A healthy part of the pot for the richest match of Ascot ever. But not that top stage place that owners more than whatever price.

This time she got in the way of the pride of Francis-Henri Graffard, who was supported in favoritism in the moments for the off and who ended the race with a devastating foot that the opposition saw and gave his many, richly, deserved group 1.

Westover. Blue tubry. Kalpana. All went to win from their king George and follow the hoof prints of their appreciated colleague.

And they all found a good day.

But it could have been so much more than that, and so much different.

Continu, a stylish kind of itself and earned his place in the race, was reserved for the Pacemaker obligation for the clear number one string in Jan Brueghel, the Piastri of their Norris, the tsunoda to their Verstappen, in this formula of group 1 drama.

However, it turned into a virtual security car from continuously, which was on the outside of the first string, fails to move forward at a calm pace.

Tactically, yes. But it meant that a shield wall was at the front, so that the three remaining rivals are considering a different method to limit the front line of the Ballydoyle and to get a crack at the price that is for the price.

And there seemed to be weaknesses that emerged, with Ryan Moore who pushed on his mountain, apparently a pool of the usual comfort and pure trust Jan Brueghel brings his riders.

Once that weakness showed, his rivals began to take advantage.

Oisin Murphy on Kalpana found the first opportunity to attract first damage, three wide in the straight and setting sail home with two furlongs.

Jan Brueghel was surpassed and fell back constantly when the race warmed up, the Ballydoyle operation that was faster than their pace was for the most part of the race.

It was clear that they were a spent strength, and without reinforcements at hand it would take another warrior to ward off the power, the marefeulen got a jump of two length on her rivals while the field passed the two pole.

It was time for a hero to get up. And so they appeared.

Mickael lowered the drawbidge and sallied after Kalpana on board his mountain, while the romance of Rebel actually encountered the tilting of the Ballydoyle fort. Caught behind Jan Brueghel, faltered himself from the rail and back to it, his challenge was spent.

And despite the fact that he got some daylight and eventually shook the chains of Ballydoyle from him, he was no more than third as the focus of the race in line with the Merrievefeulen and the French Raider.

With a little more than a furlong to go, fears began to get into the heads of the favorite, because it seemed that the omen’s coronation would strike the defeat against Jan Brueghel again.

Back at Epsom he did not succeed in faltering Avenged Conqueror and lost a neck on the downs.

And in the sunshine in Berkshire, he seemed to hit a flat place, where Kalpana continued and looked to have divested her most efficient challenger.

But this was a horse that was firmly fixed on the victory, and his resolution would not be questioned, in which he and Barzalona clearly pulled in the last furlong to score with a length.

Kalpana came home in second place, the bad luck romance of the Rebel in third place, with the Ballydoyle pair of Jan Brueghel and continuously conquered and chased in penultimate and last respectively.

Normally, winning a prestigious competition would generate every trainer, but it came a bit of a stunning realization for the winning handler.

“It was a surprise,” Francis-Henri Graffard openly told the assembled media. “I didn’t put Goliath in the race because of a lot of pace!”

“I don’t regret!” He admitted.

He may have had kittens instead of regrets if his indictment could not falter in the Merrievefeulen, but although it took time before the horse found his rhythm and was the house in the house, Graffard had faith in the ride that Mickael had given the winner.

“I have never had any doubts about his will (to win)”. “Every time he is defeated, we apologized.”

For example, he made stable work and accelerated good not to catch it to catch Star three -year -old city of Troy in last year’s Juddmonte International in York, and in Dubai he finished strong again in the spring, but failed to catch the winner Danon Decile in the Sheema Classic.

The step in the journey seemed to confirm that he has the heart of a warrior and simply does not know when to admit.

“He likes the distance! I think there is no doubt about his willingness to win!”

“I think he has proven in every race that he is a very good horse. The way he can accelerate is very impressive!”

“Mickael said he was waiting because that helped him to balance, and that the last 200 meters are long,” and although he never seemed to doubt his partner, the trainer felt that he would be second again, just like the last time at EPSOM.

This time, however, the result was not in doubt for the team, because the Mickael pulled, was completely happy because he was comfortable to sit behind his most important rivals and to make their way through the field.

“I followed oisin through it and made my move … We touched a flat place, but he went in top equipment and I knew we would come there”.

“I knew I would get her”.

“Winning the King George means a lot. He is a nice horse to drive. He has the engine and he has a wonderful action.”

It seems that a trip back to the Knavesmire may be waiting for the winner and a repeated crack at the Juddmonte International next month.

Further goals, however, seem like a globetrotting manner, perhaps Japan for the Japan Cup or a trip to the Breeders Cup, if the situation occurs.

“I wouldn’t mind coming back during the trip and then going to Japan at the end of the season”.

“I have to discuss it with the Aga Khan team and Princess Zahra.”

Personally, for the writer, I hope they will look at the Dubai Sheema Classic, because it would be set up well for him, especially because he has shown the opportunity that he has always suggested.

The only hue of disappointment on the day echoed that from 12 months ago, where the winner was unable to compete in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe because they are a gelding.

However, it left the door wide open for Kalpana to become the new favorite for the race, with a general 7/1 that was seen about the big race in October in October on the illustrious racecourse of Parislongchamp.

Her next port of approach is undecided, but the Prix Vermeille on the aforementioned course and the September deployment in Kempton Park on the all-weather apparently the next step on their journey.

Although she has an entry for the Yorkshire Oaks, it seems that the trainer Andrew Balding will not record that assignment, because the prospect of bigger things usually appears on his agenda for her.

“” I am very proud of her … A best effort of the career, “he told the press after the parties.

“She has run her heart away again and did nothing wrong. She is a class act and comes up again from her previous runs”.

“We are enthusiastic about the fall, because because she has not won a race this year, so she has no penalty. If the Vermeille prix looked good, it’s a shot, it’s a group at the end of the day”.

“There is an extra week in between that and the bow this year. Everything is possible.”

“We will work back from Paris in October.”

Charlie Appleby said about Rebel’s romance that he had a “solid” race.

“We were in the bag, (while) we would have liked to come out and started rolling.

“He will now go on a journey again and we will point him to the Canadian international (near Woodbine).”

Three different goals, for three exceptional horses.

Just think of thinking about what the Horse of the Year Award deserves from the cartiers.

Because on the basis of Saturday’s viewing, each of them can be a scream.

Perhaps del Mar will hold all the answers in November. Maybe Parislongchamp will see something spectacular. Perhaps Japan becomes the focus of the horse fans in the world and both press.

But one thing is certain, given the quality that can be seen under the Berkshire Sunshine.

Autumn is warm.
