Has artificial intelligence adopted your job?
For the most part, AI has taken over my blog task, as I said last week. It was not only AI, but also some changes at Google. In general, blogging has been a house of cards to crumble off for a while. I knew that trust on Google for traffic was never safe. That is why I have diversified in dogboarding and some other freelance work.
Because we are in a great financial situation, I am more focused on the next generation of people – especially my children. That’s why I built Kid richness. I want them to have the security we have. I have never heard anyone say: “I wish I learned about composite interest LATER In life. “
The last few hundred years the path to success seemed quite clear. It may not always be feasible, but if you studied hard, you can go to the university, graduate and go up the business ladder. There have always been a number of other ways to be successful, but they seemed to rely on talent or happiness. Hard work has always been part of the comparison, but in the last thirty years or so the more ‘work is smarter, not more difficult’. That is one of the most important building behind this blog.
I grew up with loving coding in Basic and Pascal on an old IBM PCJR. I would go to the library to read books about Smalltalk and Forth. It led to a Diploma Software Engineering and Career. I hoped that my children would see what I loved, picked it up and always have a valuable skill for every employer. Over the years I have probably mentioned it in at least a dozen different blog posts. Unfortunately, there are almost no places in the neighborhood in Rhode Island that teach computer programming. They have become old enough that I don’t want to be taught by me.
Everything has changed in recent years. At that time, AI went from coding nothing to 30-50% of the coding at Salesforce. Salesforce is not alone. At Microsoft, Up to 30% is done by AI. Bank giant Goldman Sachs has one Full -time AI Software Engineer From a company called Cognition. That is not a person who knows how to cod AI -it is an AI coder who does the task of a software engineer.
Recently AI de Second best coder in the world. At least one person is left, but he has to sleep once.
There is no future in coding. Entire College Computer Science departments change their programs to adapt. Of course, computer science and jobs will continue to exist, but far fewer people will be needed.
What about AI and other careers?
It’s okay that my children may never be software. What career choices will they have? Let’s look:
- Education
We found out how much we needed human teachers during the pandemic. However, we have also discovered that a lot of learning can be done online. Artificial intelligence starts to be integrated into classes. In another ten years it is reasonable to assume that most children will have tailor -made lessons. These lesson plans will adapt to strengthening areas where a student needs more focus. They can use different modalities, such as films, to teach children who learn in different ways.
There are probably hundreds of articles that speculate about how teaching will change with AI. So my children can be teachers, but does anyone know what that profession will look like when they start that career in ten years? What about thirty years if they were to be MiddenCareer?
- Translators
This is simple because translation is now so good on mobile devices.
- Writers
This is similar to how blogging has disappeared.
- Artists/Graphic Design
It is a bit easy to see how graphic design and logos can be replaced. I bought the logo for Kid Wealth on Fiverr, but nowadays I would make it on chatgpt. In fact, I did that exactly for the new application that I am working on. It may not be the end product, but it would certainly be good enough to launch with.
It is more difficult to replace artists. I have not seen AI make original styles, but maybe it will be done. However, why could AI not be able to replace the vast majority of art that people want in their homes? After all, three years ago, AI won an art competition.
Three years ago AI was like a toddler. Nowadays it is like an expert with a Ph.D. Comparing to that in 10-30 years, it does not seem wise.
- Music
In 2017 I wrote that the world is used to here and left here. I realized that shops closed everywhere and that self -driving cars were on the horizon. My children were only 3 and 4 years old. I thought they had to learn how to play the steel drum, because that would be a career that would not disappear. I was in a restaurant with live music. Although they could have drawn up some MP3s, it would not have been the same experience.
Here we are eight years later, and an AI band, the Velvet Sundown, has become viral. Are Earn more money than real musicians trying to survive.
I played with the Free version of SunoWith which you can make music with AI. I asked to make a song about lighthouses in the style of Jack Johnson. That was my simple prompt. It wrote two songs, and they were both great in my opinion. I only spent about 30 minutes on the site. If I had more time, I would get the paid version and dig in more advanced positions.
Sorry children, I don’t see much future as a musician outside local performances. Maybe if you are extremely attractive and have a perfect voice, you have a chance. Now that I am thinking about it, music has been a lot for a long time. It seems that the competition has become infinitely more difficult.
The top two career choices of my children right now?
- Act
My 12-year-old seems to have found his thing, and it’s acting. Every parent dreams that his child is going to act, right? That is a solid career choice that nobody has ever regretted. If you don’t know, I’m super sarcastic.
A year ago, when AI started replacing codingers, acting started to look better than programming. A few months ago, Google almost destroyed the future of acting by releasing the VEO product. Before that, AI video was something my children and I laughed at. Who did not enjoy Will Smith who eats spaghetti:
Well, here is Ai’s fake version of Will Smith who eats spaghetti at the start of the year:
I think this was made with a Google VEO 2. When I saw what Google Veo 3 could do, I immediately showed it to everyone in the family:
My wife argued that AI live acting cannot replace. That is fair, but do we now hope that he makes it big on Broadway? I am not sure how much they earn, but the lifestyle of touring with different productions sounds difficult. I know I think so much – it’s what I do.
- Architect
My 11-year-old can build everything. Because he was about four years old, I had compiled some simple IKEA furniture. He is also very good with art and mathematics. I have put them all together and devised them with architecture as a solid career option.
There are a lot of AI tools for architecture that are available. I did a little research and found a number of architects who really like Architian As one tool. I don’t know enough about the industry, but it seems that you could do much more much faster. Maybe you can build with fewer architects?
What does this all look like in ten years or thirty years? The aspect of physical construction seems to be safe until you consider progress in robotics and 3D printing. There are now 3D -printed houses, so I can imagine that you just need someone to ensure that the “printer” has enough raw material to build with.
Last thoughts
Microsoft recently came with a report from 40 jobs the most and the least vulnerable for AIWhat was at the right time because I worked on this article for at least a month. Many of the most vulnerable were mentioned above.
I spoke with an electrician friend of mine and he is not afraid that his work will be replaced by AI. He realizes that by the time the robots become agile enough to do the physical work he does, he will be retired. He also owns his own company with a couple of electricians among him. He will probably be able to sell it for a good amount of cash.
It is interesting because he knows me more for my local dog boarding company than my blog or my earlier software career. Maybe I accidentally made my income with the boarding of dogs? That is a skill that my children have. They grew up with seven hundred different dogs (and counting). They are thousands of nights if you count that most of my customers are repeated customers.
That’s something to build, right?
