Hyperliquid (HYPE) Rises 11% After Recent Crash, Bitcoin (BTC) Still Below $90,000: Weekend Watch

RIVER today entered the top 100 alts after a massive 30% increase.

Several altcoins have posted impressive gains in the past 24 hours, especially HYPE, which had been in freefall for about a week before that.

BTC is still below $90,000

The primary cryptocurrency traded high at over $95,000 over the weekend. However, geopolitical tensions between the US and EU soared after the former president announced a new set of tariffs if the latter’s members continued to refuse to reach an agreement on Greenland.

As things progressed between the two, BTC continued to fall after the Asian and futures markets opened Monday morning. It fell to $92,000, but the bears kept the pressure on and bitcoin quickly lost the $90,000 support. It fell further to a multi-week low of $87,200 on Wednesday, as Trump took the stage in Davos.

However, after a long speech on numerous topics, he ultimately said he would not use force to take control of the island. BTC quickly rose to over $90,000, but just as quickly bounced back to $88,000, then hit $90,000 again when Trump said they were actually working on a deal with Denmark.

The cryptocurrency saw more volatility on Friday, but eventually stopped at $91,000 and is now back below $90,000. Its market cap has remained below $1.8 trillion, while its dominance over alts on CG stands at 57.5%.

HYPE recovers

Ethereum continues to struggle below $3,000 even after a small 1% increase in the past 24 hours. XRP is well below $2.00, while BNB is below $900. XMR and CC have made impressive gains, and so has WLFI. HYPE is currently the best performer, up 11% to $23. However, the asset is declining by more than 7% every week. TRX is well in the red on a daily basis.

RIVER has entered the top 100 alts after a 32% daily explosion. MYX follows suit in terms of 24-hour earnings, rising 12% to $6.50.

The total crypto market cap has defended the $3.1 level and remains inches above it.
