It’s obviously nothing new for a car, especially one that’s so driver-focused, to be silhouetted on the ring, but HWA’s efforts for a 100-unit car look remarkable. Over the course of sixteen days, officially to work on damper tuning and ‘detailed set-up calibration’, three Evo prototypes completed 504 laps, covering a distance of 10,000 kilometers. They didn’t just get through miles either, as racers Reinhold Renger, Markus Winkelhock, Luca Ludwig and Sebastian Asch (some famous families there!) pushed the HWA to its limits all the time. If it can survive an autumnal Nordschleife plague of real paid professionals, a private track day in the sun should be a breeze.
Gordian von Schöning, CTO of HWA. “In addition to our hot and cold tests in Northern Europe and Southern Spain, as well as the ongoing homologation process, this phase of Nürburgring development has allowed us to ensure we create a car worthy of the HWA name.” That process is almost said to be complete after what feels like an eternity, but that’s the wait when the standards are set so high. Production should start in early 2026…
