Hull City attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer faces an uncertain future at the MKM Stadium.
Hull City must make a decision on his situation before the January transfer window. HCAFC has the opportunity to do some more business this winter on their terms limit.
Palmer, 28, joined the Tigers about 12 months ago from colleague Championship Coventry City side. He is under contract in East Yorkshire until June 2027.
However, his spell is not yet going according to plan. He has played 34 games in all competitions so far and managed to score just one goal.
He wasn’t in their squad against Sheffield United last time. Hull City eventually won 1-0 after David Akintola’s winner.
Afterwards, Sergej Jakirovic shared this update, according to a report from HullLive: “He wasn’t ready for this match so it was my decision and he won’t be on the bench. Not ready. Not easy. What I said, not ready. Not ready mentally. We have a lot of players so I mean at least I can give you a chance. You have to show your quality on the pitch. No one is above the club for me. I have no problem with that.”
Hull City should sell Kasey Palmer to raise money for Ozan Tufan
Hull City would have to part ways with Palmer within a few months and raise the money needed to pay Ozan Tufan’s wages. HCAFC considered bringing the Turkish international back from Trabzonspor this summer and he is still ‘open’ to a return, according to reports HullLive.
The 30-year-old was a hit during his time at the Tigers from 2022 to 2024, scoring 18 goals in 84 games in all competitions and is now said to be an upgrade for Palmer.
Hull City brought in Tufan as one of chairman Acun Ilicali’s first major additions. He then adapted well to life with them and became a leading actor. Prior to his move, he had a tough loan spell at Watford in the Premier League. However, he established himself well and was a luxury option to call upon.
Tufan was on the books of Fenerbahce from 2015 to 2022. He played 182 games for the Istanbul giants and found the net 21 times.
Hull City narrowly missed out on the play-offs during his final year under Liam Rosenior. They finished 7th before heading out the exit door to Trabzonspor.

What next for Kasey Palmer and Hull City?
Hull City cannot afford to keep Palmer if he is not going to play, especially under the current circumstances. HCAFC should take him off their wage bill and use that money for other players.
Tufan would be perfect for the Tigers and would be a useful option to call on in games. He has proven quality, can produce magical moments and is popular among their fans.
Jakirovic’s team is only three points away from the top six. They should be in a confident mood after their win over Sheffield United.
They are back in action after the international break and are looking to build some momentum. Next up is a trip to Birmingham City.
