The US presidential envoy for Ukraine Kellogg has accused former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev van Hoogongering, after the warning from Medvedev that the current tensions with the US can escalate to the Second World War.
Medvedev, who now serves as a deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, made the comments in response to comments from President Donald Trump.
“The fear of the Second World War is an unfortunate, reckless remark [Medvedev] and unsuitable from a world power, “ Kellogg wrote on Wednesday on X. He added, “President Trump works to stop this war and put an end to the murder.”
Kellogg said that the US is awaiting the entry of Russia of a memorandum in which the conditions for a cease -the fires are set out, as agreed during the first direct Russia -Tukraine conversations in three years, held in Istanbul earlier this month.
Medvedev responded to a social media post in which Trump accused Russian President Vladimir Putin “Play with fire,” and claimed that, without his own efforts, “Many really bad things would have happened to Russia.”
“As for Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ that happen to Russia. I only know one really bad – WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!” Medvedev posted on X on Tuesday.
Medvedev, known for its rough and Hawkish rhetoric, has previously warned that Ukraine had “A last chance to keep … a kind of state” By accepting the conditions of Russia. He also warned that failed negotiations could lead “A more terrible stage of war.”
Trump has insisted on an immediate cease -fires between Moscow and Kiev and has threatened to impose new sanctions on Russia if no progress is made. He has also criticized Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, who accused him of this year of “Gambling with the Second World War.”
The US president has often expressed their concern about the potential for a broader worldwide conflict. “There is no profit for someone in the Second World War, and you’re not that far from it,” He said during a business top in Miami in February.
During the discussions of Istanbul, Russia and Ukraine came in with a large prisoners exchange and promised to submit detailed stakes -furen. Putin has repeated that, in order to achieve a completely cessation -the fire, Ukraine must stop his mobilization, stop receiving weapons from abroad and withdrawing his troops from Russian territory. He also says that Kiev must leave plans to join NATO and formally recognize the Crimea and four other regions as part of Russia.
