Eddie Howe said he hopes to continue to work with Alexander Isak while the Transfersaga of the Newcastle Forward continues.
The Swedish International currently only trains while he is looking for a step away from the magpies, where Howe also confirms that the striker will miss Monday’s crucial match against Liverpool.
Last season, Isak scored 23 league goals for Newcastle, where only Mohammed Salah found the net more often (29) and also scored in their EFL cup final against Liverpool to help secure their first major trophy in 56 years.
In a statement that was released earlier this week, Isak “Broken Promises” claimed the main reason for his desire to continue with the club.
Howe revealed that he had conversations with Isak about the future of the 25-year-old in the club, but admitted that the situation is “regrettable”.
“Me and Alex had conversations, yes I will not deny that,” said Howe in his press conference.
“It is better to stay private individual conversations. Yes, we had conversations about his future.

“This situation is regrettable. Not something we wanted to see if Alex wanted. I am talking about his behavior, his professionalism every day, he is very dedicated, very driven and very professional.
“Others can make their own opinion, but I provide your background information about the player I know every day.
“Trust is both sides and that must be a relationship that you develop.
“I went with Alex on that trip, so I don’t think we have problems with a football side. I hope I can work with him again and get him back to his very best.”
Former Newcastle player Alan Shearer, together with Wayne Rooney, believes that it is unlikely that the players would like Isak back in the team, but Howe thinks differently.
How did it added: “There is no doubt how the players will feel, they will feel in the same way as me.
“Alex is an excellent player and a very good person and a good character. He wants to succeed in his career and this has been a very difficult situation for him and for the players we have to see without him.
“If Alex decided to come back and play for us, the players would welcome him back.
“Naturally [I want him to]He is contracted and he is our player. My wish is that he will play with us on Monday and 100% I want to see him again in a shirt in Newcastle. “
