Your YouTube Recap 2025 won’t appear because you don’t meet one or more of these requirements:
- Make sure you listen to music for at least 4 hours per season
- Listen to music for at least 10 hours between January 1 and November 15
- Make sure you listen to podcasts for at least 2 hours (only if you qualify for Recap)
- Keep watch history ON during the recap period
- Make sure auto-delete is OFF (or not deleted after 3 months)
- Don’t listen primarily to content made for children
- Don’t use programs migrated by Google Podcasts
- Don’t use podcasts added via an RSS feed
- Make sure you have the YouTube app (Android 18.43+) or YouTube Music app (Android 8.47+)

How to Fix YouTube Recap 2025 Not Showing Up
To avoid YouTube 2025 Recap not showing up, here’s what you need to do Update YouTube to the latest version.
If your Android or iOS version is outdated, you need to update your device.
Solution 1: Update YouTube
- Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Search for “YouTube/YouTube Music” and open it.
- Select “Update” to update the app.
- Open the YouTube app and log in.
- Select ‘You’ from the bottom navigation bar.
- Select the option ‘Your 2025 recap is here!’ map to view it.
Remark: If you already have the latest version of YouTube, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app or clearing its cache.
Solution 2: Update your device
- For Android devices: Open the Settings app > System > System Update > follow the onscreen instructions to update your Android version.
- For iOS devices: Open the Settings app > General > Software Update > Download & Install.
Solution 3: Enable your watch history
- Go to your YouTube watch history settings.
- Select ‘Save your YouTube history’.
- Select ‘Enable’ if your watch history is disabled.
- Wait until next year to get your YouTube recap.
Solution 4: Disable automatic deletion
- Go to your YouTube watch history settings.
- Select “Automatically delete”.
- Select ‘Do not automatically delete activity’ if automatic deletion is disabled.
