How much would you ask?

So I’ve been working on my wife’s website for her new party equipment rental company. Not being a developer didn’t stop me from giving it a try. I managed to create all the necessary pages, such as our homepage, about us, contact and FAQs, without any problems.

But this is where the problems started. I was in the market looking for an equipment rental/booking plugin and every one of these I’ve tried seems to get me close to my goal, but far at the same time. For example, a plugin that offers date and time bookings is missing a calendar, or a plugin that offers a calendar is missing a timed booking and only offers daily/nightly bookings. But my point is: there are always missing features.

There was one plugin that does it all perfectly, but it is subscription based and not fully integrated into WordPress + WooCommerce. Where you just embed a code into your website and handle everything through their platform, from adding products to handling bookings and everything. I try to leave this plugin as a last resort.

Now I really don’t know how to approach this and where I can find the right developers to help me build this website. So far the places I’ve looked at have had ridiculously high prices, which doesn’t detract from the quality of the work or its value. But we are a company of two people, me and my wife. We’ve only just started and haven’t even had a booking yet! So money is certainly still a major determining factor, and not by choice.

So how much would you charge in total for a fully automated booking website where people can choose the product, quantity, number of days or hours as some products are booked hourly and some are booked daily. Date and time for pick up and return), go to the checkout page where they can read, sign and then pay for our rental agreement. We also wanted a buffer time feature that would allow us to set time before and after booking, giving us plenty of time to drive to clients, set everything up, drive back and pick up more equipment before heading to our next client. Due to the buffer time, people cannot in principle rent equipment for a certain time before and after our planned parties or events.

We also need a fully integrated calendar that can be synced with Google Calendar and iCalendar for iOS, so we can access all our bookings on the go and track them on our devices, wherever we are
