It has now been made public how much money Newcastle United will make from their FA Cup tie away at Aston Villa.
This follows the broadcasters making their selections for the FA Cup fourth round matches.
At Villa Park, the Aston Villa v Newcastle United match has been announced as a 5.45pm kick-off on Saturday 14 February and will be shown live on BBC One, iPlayer, TNT Sports 3 and Discovery+
The official FA announcement included the following: ‘The 16 clubs participating in the television broadcasts on TNT Sports and BBC One will receive compensation of £100,000, and the clubs participating on the Discovery+ and BBC Wales platforms will receive £50,000. The winning clubs in the fourth round will receive £127,000 from the competition’s prize money.’
This money is of course in addition to what Aston Villa and Newcastle United split equally on ticket sales etc, once the costs of organizing the match have been deducted.
The FA also confirms that the FA Cup fifth round draw will be shown live on TNT Sports during pre-match coverage of Macclesfield vs Brentford on Monday February 16, hopefully United still retain interest after Villa Park…
This announcement means that Newcastle United’s next ten scheduled matches will be shown live on TV
Sunday January 18 – Wolves v Newcastle (2pm) Sky Sports
Wednesday January 21 – Newcastle v PSV (8 p.m.) TNT Sports (Champions League)
Sunday January 25 – Newcastle v Aston Villa (2pm) Sky Sports

For that last game in the ten-game series, we still don’t know what time it will be, 12:30 or 8 p.m.
Apparently the timing of the Etihad Premier League matches all depends on the possible involvement of Newcastle United and/or Manchester City in the play-off stages of the Champions League.
The clubs finishing between 9th and 24th in the Swiss League stage of the Champions League will play their home and away play-off matches in the midweeks before and after Newcastle’s Premier League match against Manchester City.
These play-off matches will be played in the midweeks of Tuesday 17/Wednesday 18 February and Tuesday 24/Wednesday 25 February, to decide which eight clubs will join the eight Champions League teams that have automatically qualified by finishing in the top eight in the stage of the Swiss league.
