One of the most important roles in the team of Each Pro golfer is the Caddy. In the ropes, Caddies are the only lifeline that a golfer has. In an individual sport such as Golf, that is an invaluable assets.
It is no wonder that professionals are so specific about who they use on the bag. A large caddy can be the difference between winning and losing, so it is necessary to have the right person with you.
Jake Knapp knows this fact well. As a rising star in the game, he does everything he can to ensure that he is set up for success – and that includes having the right Caddy by his side.
Knapp recently joined the forces with Joe Greiner, who worked for Max Homa and Collin Morikawa in the past. And in this week of Golf’s Subpar, Knapp explained how he joined the veteran Caddy.
Knapp, who has just finished his second full season on tour, has long known Greiner through an assistant coach at his Alma Mater, UCLA. He also often played next to Homan and received a close-up of how greiner worked as Bagman. Safe to say, Knapp was impressed.
“I always had a list of boys that if they became available, I would at least be willing to have a conversation to see if they are interested,” said Knapp. “He had opportunities to go in other places, but then he gave me the phone call and told me that he would be excited to work for me.”
The partnership is only in its infancy with only one start for the duo so far, but if the earlier success of Greiner is an indication, heaven is the limit for the two.
“I look forward to the next season with him,” said Knapp.
