Making two weeks free already created the perfect conditions for Roest to gather on my golf game. Surprisingly, my swing was okay, but my photos after the Tee box needed a lot of work. All this rust was the result of not swinging a club on my vacation, but I achieved my main goal to have fun with my play partners on Men’s Night yesterday. I realize that I had very little touch around the green when I was practicing for our round. But unfortunately I saw an improvement as the round went on.
The first point of care was my approach shots from 75 meters or closer. I expect to hit the green from that distance. In the beginning this was not the case because I got the ball short every time. My biggest problem was not aggressive enough when shooting on the pin. My direction was okay, but my distance control needed a lot of work. Fortunately I improve this area of care and I hit the green in regulations in the last three holes.
Save the ball around the green was pretty okay. When I played the ball in my position with my weight on my main foot, I made a lot of contact. If I hadn’t set up this shot properly, I usually hit the ball and left my shot attempt short. There was a lot of rust on this part of my game and I still have to practice to get my touch back for my senior men’s cramble next Thursday at Osprey Links. Don’t worry, I will hit the practice green in the coming days.
Finally, my well was good, except when I missed 2 two footers. Both mistakes were because I tried to tap the ball without intention. If this was a barrier match, I would have been really annoyed for such mental errors. When I took my time and set up well, I placed reasonably well. It wasn’t great and I still need some work, but in general my wells was acceptable.
Aside, I tried to beat my driver from the deck again. My ball flight was very low (no more than 10 feet from the ground) and my ball was bored for a considerable distance through the air. I now know that the use of my driver works best if the circumstances are dry and I have the opportunity to make a lot of role.
Golf is a great sport. After not playing for two weeks, I was able to take a few good photos. While my week unfolds, I will continue to know the rust of my short game and hopefully regain my shape in the middle season.
I am a grateful golfer! See you on the links!
