Losartan is prescribed for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and protecting the kidneys against diabetes-related damage. Moreover, it helps to reduce the risk of strokes in people with high blood pressure and an enlarged heart. By lowering high blood pressure, it plays a role in preventing strokes, heart attacks and kidney complications. Losartan falls under the category of medicines known as angiotensineceptor blockers (ARBs) and works by relaxing blood vessels to facilitate a smoother blood flow.
Gabapentin
Gabapentin is used in addition to other medicines to prevent and manage attacks. Moreover, it is used to relieve nerve pain that occurs after an outbreak of shingles (a painful skin rash caused by herpes zoster infection) in adults. Gabapentin is classified as an anticonvulsive or anti -epileptic medication.

How to use gabapentin
View the medication manual and, if provided, the patient information given by your pharmacist before starting Gabapentin and with every refill. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
Serve this medication orally, with or without food, following the instructions of your doctor. The dosage is determined by your medical condition and response to the treatment, with doses of children also based on weight.
If your doctor instructs you to split tablets, take the other half with your next planned dose. Discard split tablets if they are not used within a few days. For capsules, slot them entirely with a lot of water.
Strictly adhere to the dosing instructions of your doctor. Initially, your doctor can gradually increase your dose in the first few days to adjust your body. To minimize side effects, take the first dose before bed.
Take this drug consistently to maximize its benefits, because it works best if the medicine level in your body remains constant. Manage Gabapentin regularly, preferably at the same time (s) daily. If it is prescribed 3 times a day for attacks, you will not exceed 12 hours between doses to prevent an increased risk of attacks.
Do not change the frequency or dosage without consulting your doctor, because this will not speed up the improvement and increase the risk of serious side effects.
Consult your doctor before you terminate this medicine, because it suddenly stopping certain conditions can aggravate. Your dose may have to be gradually reduced.
Antacida that contains aluminum or magnesium can influence the absorption of this medicine. If you take an Antacida, wait at least 2 hours before taking Gabapentin.
Different forms of gabapentine (for example immediate release, long -term release, and acarbil persistent release) are otherwise absorbed. Do not switch from forms to consult your doctor.
Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or deteriorates.
