The Houston Chronicle has mentioned Brian Rausch Like his new weekend editor, leading weekend reporting as part of the Breaking News Team.
In his earlier role as an assistant Business Editor, he has been an integral part of the business office in recent years. In addition to the leading coverage of real estate and retail, he coordinated the annual chronicle 100 and top workplaces.
In nine years at The Chronicle, Rausch worked as a digital producer, managed an early incarnation of the Chronicle website and recently spent five years as an assistant company editor. He created the first newsletter of the Chronicle, the afternoon report, in 2017.
“The weekend editor has a unique challenge to offer readers that are tailored to what they want on Saturday and Sunday; something other than what they get from Monday to Friday,” said Rausch. “It may be longer, more in -depth lectures, nice fast hits, the latest sports updates or live reporting of events that Houstonians attend during the weekend. The weekend team and I will deliver the same high -quality journalism that our subscribers expect every day of the week.”
Before he came to Houston, the resident of Windy City worked for 15 years at the Chicago Sun-Times and his suburban newspapers and six years as an editor of the business agency of the Chicago Tribune. In between, he lived in Mexico City for three years, where he helped launch an English -language newspaper.
