Ahead of this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations, Mattel has launched a new limited edition Hot Wheels Silver Series diecast model. Exclusive to the Asia-Pacific markets, the 1:64 scale collector’s version was created in collaboration with Porsche, with artwork by Anton Henggono.
The car chosen as the basis is the reborn 935, a 911 GT2 RS of the 991 generation with a body that resembles the classic racing car from the 1970s. It features a striking deep red base with gold accents, iconography of white-gold galloping horses and expressive calligraphic lines inspired by traditional Lunar New Year motifs. The large rear wing also features ‘2026’.
The die-cast version comes with a specially designed blister card featuring artwork featuring fireworks, glowing lanterns, a pagoda skyline and iconic red-and-gold details to keep in line with the festive theme.

“This release celebrates Hot Wheels’ ongoing collaboration with the car culture community and Porsche, reimagining a legendary performance silhouette through a cultural and celebratory lens, making it a true collectible built for celebration, culture and speed,” the release said.
The Hot Wheels Lunar New Year Silver Series die-cast is available now at select toy specialty and department stores, convenience stores and gas markets nationwide.
