The next-generation Honda 0 α (Alpha) EV may have been the centerpiece of the Japanese automaker’s displays at the recent 2025 Japan Mobility Show, but the two other integral models in the range, which will arrive before the Alpha, were also given a prominent position within the showcase.
The main stand also featured the 0 Limousine and 0 SUV and Limousine prototypes, which were presented for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the beginning of this year. Fitting, because they’ll be the standard-bearers of the company’s global electrification effort, which debuts in 2026, a year before the Alpha arrives.
The 0 Saloon prototype is essentially a development of the concept it showed at CES 2024, and while it retains the single-box shape, some radical design features have been dropped to bring the car closer to production specification.

This includes replacing the gull-wing doors with regular doors and restyling the headlights and nose. Other than that, elements such as the flowing roofline, the large rear diffuser and the rectangular display panel remain.
Apart from mentioning that it – and the SUV – will be equipped with the carmaker’s new Asimo OS operating system, no action has of course been taken on the technical specifications or the powertrain. Nevertheless, it looks like the 0 SUV will be the first, as the prototype has already made its working debut, via a demonstration drive at a ‘Red Bull Showrun x Powered by Honda’ event in Tokyo earlier this year.
Of the duo, the 0 SUV looks more conventional, has a clean shape, with minimal lines, with the visual novelty of a prominent D-pillar and a strongly tapered rear end. Essentially it’s a larger-scale image of the Alpha, which has similar design features including the letterbox-style rear screen and the full-width U-shaped taillights that frame the tailgate.

Internal design features of both prototypes include a full-width display panel with five digital screens, including two for the side-view cameras, and a yoke-style steering system. As for the technology beneath all that skin, the Asimo element will integrate advanced AI as part of its software-defined vehicles (SDVs) approach. The cars will feature integrated control of ECUs for systems such as driver assistance technology and Level 3 infotainment, while the software will perform many tasks, including the integrated control of vehicle dynamics.
Production of the Honda 0 SUV will take place at the automaker’s EV Hub in Ohio, before going on sale in the US sometime in the first half of 2026, before entering other global markets including Japan and Europe, with the 0 Saloon following later this year. A total of seven 0 Series models will be introduced worldwide by 2030.
