Referring to what he described as repeated attacks on temples and incidents involving cow protectors, Mr Rao said these were not isolated cases but were part of a “dangerous pattern” that reflected the government’s negligence.
He alleged that the Congress, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, had failed to protect Hindu beliefs and sentiments.
Citing the recent Malkajgiri incident, Mr. Rao said the alleged desecration of the Kattamaisamma temple premises amounted to a serious attack on the Hindu faith. He criticized the Congress government, opposition BRS leaders and sections of the mainstream media for remaining “silent” on the issue.
“The continued silence sends a clear message that the system will not respond if Hindus are targeted,” he said, asserting that only the BJP was raising its voice in defense of Hindu interests.
Warning that his party would not remain a “silent spectator” of attacks on the Hindu faith, the BJP leader announced that the party would launch agitations for the protection of temples, Hindu dignity and protection of cows. He claimed that the struggle was cultural in nature and not driven by political considerations.
