It’s a simple process: find and pay a local mechanic to have the vehicle you’re considering inspected to ensure there are no hidden problems. It’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.
Get a vehicle history report
The next best thing you can do before purchasing a used vehicle is to request the history report. Make sure there are no mileage inconsistencies or major aircraft accidents recorded that could compromise the value or safety of the vehicle.
Make sure you get under any used car if possible. Make sure there are no signs of rust. Also look and feel under the wheel arches.
Lower body throbbing
Take a good look under any truck you are looking at and make sure all exposed areas are free of damage. If there is soil protection, also pay attention to its condition. Lots of dings and dents on the underside probably indicate that the trucks you’re looking at have had an adventure off the tarmac.
The presence of such abrasions is not necessarily a bad thing; however, it does mean that problems from this may arise later. If you’re on the fence about getting a PPI, a worn-out underbody protector should be the last straw that convinces you to buy one.
Check the condition of the blade

Cracks, tears, or excessive wear and tear on the fabric or plastic windows are things you’ll want to repair, so be sure to factor these costs into the price when negotiating a deal with the selling dealer.
