Graham fired two of the biggest names in the Scorchers line-up: Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine. Mooney scored 33 off 26 balls before being bowled, while Devine fell soon after, putting pressure on the Scorchers.

Despite finishing 13 points penultimate above hopes of a strong finish, Nicola Carey produced an excellent final, conceding just three points. Perth eventually posted a modest total of 137/5, with Paige Scholfield remaining unbeaten on 27 off 22 balls.

Lizelle Lee leads Hobart’s dominant chase

Hobart Hurricanes Women wasted no time in asserting control in the chase, thanks to a blistering start from Lizelle Lee. The experienced opener smashed 31 runs in the powerplay and built early momentum.

Lee brought up her half-century in just 32 balls during an explosive 18-run 11th over. The Hurricanes crossed the 100-run mark shortly afterwards, completely deflating the Scorchers’ bowling attack.

Although Nat Sciver-Brunt scored a useful 35 off 27 balls, the chase was firmly in Lee’s hands. Nicola Carey sealed the win with a boundary while Lee finished unbeaten with 77 off 40 deliveries, including 10 fours and four sixes. It was Lee’s third fifty of the tournament.
