Hey Hey Mama defeated four rivals in the harness races to take a 1:51 victory in Thursday’s (Nov. 13) $28,000 Filly-Mare Open Pace at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.

Hey Hey Mama (Luke Hanners) took the early lead, controlling the :28.3 and :57 fractions, using a :54 final half to avoid a real challenge.

The five year old Down on the coast mare defeated her stablemate and bag-sitting Foxy Hill (Tyler Smith) by 1 ¼ lengths.

Fearless Ginger (Chris Page) was 1 ¼ lengths clear of Beautiful Lather (Jeremy Smith) to complete the trifecta.

The winner is co-owned by Odds On Racing and trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr.

In the $18,000 condition claiming pace for fillies and mares, Cinamontoastcrunch (Sam Widger) used a perfect pocket trip to spark a 12-1 charge.

Real Star was thrown from the gate by Trevor Smith from post #5 and parked the big favorite, Lady Café Au Lait (Chris Page) for the entire mile.

The declarer could cut out the fractions :27, :56 and 1:24.

Lady Café Au Lait could not pass the leader and dropped to fifth place.

Cinamontoastcrunch threw the pocket and held off a closing Plays In The Shade (Cameron McCown) by half a length in 1:53.1.

The groundbreaking Real Star held on in third place.

Cinamontoastcrunch, who paid $25.80 to win, is the second daughter of Captain Crunch. She is co-owned by triplets Ervin Miller Stable, Douglas Overhiser and Levi Bontrager.

Driver Luke Hanners had a big day with four victories.

A 14-race card is scheduled for Friday, November 14 at 4 p.m.
